At DAV Public School Kusunda, we continue to honor the rich cultural tradition of performing Hawan early in the morning twice a week, as part of our daily spiritual practices. Inspired by the teachings of Swarni Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of the D.A.V. group of schools, who emphasized that "The Deva Yagna is the second duty of man," we undertake this sacred ritual with deep reverence.
The Hawan is performed to purify our body, mind, and soul. Through this ancient practice, we invoke the blessings of Agni, the god of fire, seeking his divine energy to cleanse us from all sins and elevate our spirits. During the ceremony, some students actively perform the Hawan while others join in chanting the mantras, fostering a sense of unity and devotion within the school community. The process follows a systematic flow, beginning with Sandhya, followed by Agni Hotra, the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, and concluding with the Shanti Path to invoke peace and harmony.
Beyond its spiritual significance, the Hawan serves an environmental purpose. The heat generated by the sacred fire helps in purifying the air, eliminating micro-organisms and pollutants, and leaving the atmosphere clean, fresh, and fragrant. This ritual, conducted class by class, contributes to a serene and peaceful start to the day, promoting a harmonious environment for learning.
Through the Hawan, DAV Kusunda remains deeply connected to its cultural roots, while also promoting physical and mental well-being for students and staff alike.
